Libby’s Bio


 

 

Libby is a Licensed Addictions Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate who will complete her requirements for an LPC in spring 2012. Libby graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Human Biology and completed her Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling at University of Northern Colorado.

 

Libby uses Motivational Interviewing, Experiential/Gestalt Theory and a variety of informative strategies to help clients identify their strengths, overcome negative thinking, gain empowerment towards desired change, and reframe personal traumas.

 

Her experience includes working in outpatient therapy at Lost and Found, Inc., inpatient psychiatric care at Children’s Hospital in Denver, and in Child Protection with substance abusing parents in custody cases in the courts.  Libby also has experience in counseling in international and cross-cultural settings.
